England's second highest wicket-taker in one-day internationals, cricketer Darren Gough was the spearhead of England's bowling attack through much of the 1990s, taking 229 wickets in his 58 Test matches. A true Yorkshireman, Goughie played almost his entire career for his beloved home country - apart from two seasons at Essex.

Gough was a right arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman, capable of swinging the ball late. A large number of his wickets were gained through LBW or bowled, often with the inswinging yorker delivery.

Goughie has never been shy of the limelight and was thrust into its full beam when he appeared on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2005. His desire to win shone through, and he won both the main show (with partner Lilia Kopylova) and the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. Following this success, he released the dance book Dazzler on the Dance Floor, and then went on to become captain on the BBC game show Hole in the Wall (in 2008). Since 2009, he has presented the TalkSport drive time radio show with Adrian Durham.

Darren has also taken on Freddie Flintoff in the TV series Freddie Flintoff versus The World. They wrestled and shot each other out of the sky in Paintball Paragliding, before cliff diving in Acapulco. Coming back down to Earth, in 2010 Darren became the face of the Costcutter supermarket chain, regularly featuring in their promotional trails on television.
