Her roles also took her to Washington during the first Gulf War.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom 2015 to 2021, Eliza chaired the Wellcome Trust, one of the world’s largest charitable funders of medical research. Under her leadership, the organisation supported research across areas including infectious disease and mental health, while playing a significant role in the global response to Covid-19. Having recognised the potential impact of a major pandemic, Wellcome was also involved in establishing the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrawing on two decades at the helm of very different organisations, Eliza explores what effective leadership looks like when circumstances are constantly shifting.
