Labour’s former Spin Doctor Alastair Campbell proved to be a crowd-pleasing hit at this year’s Advertising Effectiveness (AdFx) Awards held last week in Dublin. His prestigious back catalogue of experience gained through various political campaigns - including the 1997 general election where he worked as a trusted Spokesman, Press Secretary and Director of Communications and Strategy for Tony Blair - allowed him to express his undeniable talents and expertise in public speaking at this biennial award ceremony on the 8th November.
Mr Campbell referred to the US Election as the perfect example of the importance of advertising, as he hailed the creative industry and praised the nominees, claiming that some of the best people he has worked with in his political career have been in the advertising field. The Advertising Effectiveness Awards, organised by Tania Banotti aims to honour the most effective advertising campaigns both the Irish and International markets booked Alastair through Prime Performers due to his vast experience in writing, speaking, charitable fund raising and campaigning. The biggest winners of the evening included SuperValu, Cadbury and DDFHB for their hugely successful advertising campaigns across a variety of fields.
