The evening of 9th November saw the 2012 Chamberlain Awards held at Birmingham’s ICC. The ceremony, which was this year hosted by Lucy Porter, is an annual event is organised by Birmingham City Council as a way of recognising the efforts of their employees that go the extra mile. Named after Joseph Chamberlain, one of the city’s most respected civic leaders, the Chamberlain awards are now in their eighth year. In order to recognise the wide range of roles fulfilled by council employees, the awards are split into 10 diverse categories, in addition to 3 special awards.
This year’s award ceremony was a moving event and there were plenty of tears shed. Fortunately, thanks to Lucy Porter, some of them were tears of joy. The Surrey born comedian did a fantastic job of hosting the event; earning rave reviews from attendees and organisers alike.
Whilst the comedian, who was booked for the event through Prime Performers, obviously helped the night go smoothly; it would seem that the nominees and winners had as much of an impression on her as she did on them.
So, a big well done from Prime Performers to Lucy Porter for another successful event! And of course, an even bigger well done to the individuals and teams who were honoured in the Chamberlain Awards 2012:
