Alan Carr
- Comedian & Broadcaster
- Chat Show Host
- Awards Host & After Dinner Entertainment
Alan Carr is one of the hottest properties on television, scoring a huge hit as host of the talk show Chatty Man, in which the comedian's decidedly outgoing and verbose personality is given free rein, much to the delight of the studio audience and millions watching at home. He's also a huge hit on the corporate circuit for Awards Hosting and After Dinner Speaking.
Winning the BBC New Comedy Award for Stand-up in 2001 led to Alan hosting The Friday Night Project (Channel 4) with Justin Lee Collins, followed by Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong in 2008, and eventually Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which Alan has been hosting since 2009 in his own inimitable style. Carr also hosted a radio show, Going Out with Alan Carr, on BBC Radio 2 for three years.
With roots firmly plated in stand up comedy, Alan has been featured in three Edinburgh shows and in 2007 he toured throughout the UK, followed by a DVD entitled Tooth Fairy Live. He repeated this success in 2011 with his Spexy Beast Live tour. He has also performed at the Apollo Theatre in London, which was televised for the BBC1 series Live at the Apollo, and has been featured in the Royal Variety Performance.
Alan also regularly appears at festivals, including the Reading and Leeds Festivals, the Latitude Festival, the Kilkenny Comedy Festival, and at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. In 2010, he took part in Channel 4's Comedy Gala, a benefit show held in aid of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, filmed live at the O2 Arena.
Meanwhile, Chatty Man continues to go from strength-to-strength, winning the 2013 BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance and 2013 British Comedy Award for Best Comedy Entertainment Personality. In September 2013, the 100th episode was aired with A-list guests, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.
