Alex Staniforth

  • The Adversity Adventurer
  • Mental Health & Resillence Speaker
  • Overcoming Challenges & Leadership

Despite his young age, Alex Staniforth is already an expert in overcoming challenges, having survived the two biggest disasters in Mount Everest history as a teenager, including the 2015 Nepal earthquake. However, his biggest challenges have been much closer to home, suffering with epilepsy, stammering, bullying and mental ill health since childhood.

Adversity brings opportunity, and Alex is a now a record-breaking adventurer, international motivational speaker, ultra-runner, author of two books and founder of mental health charity Mind Over Mountains, committed to helping others build resilience through adventure and achieve through adversity.

He is the fastest person ever to climb all 100 UK county tops and won the Pride of Britain Granada Reports Fundraiser of the Year in 2017. In 2020 he ran the National Three Peaks Challenge – completing 452 miles in just 9 days 12 hours.

Alex is an international motivational speaker, helping teams and leaders build the resilience to embrace challenges, protect their mental health and achieve in adversity.

Alex brings a human perspective to the world of adventure and sport, combining adventure stories and practical tools with a humbling vulnerability that others can relate to their own goals & challenges.
