Amy Dowden

Amy Dowden is a Welsh professional ballroom and Latin American dancer, best known for her appearances on the BBC One television show Strictly Come Dancing. Born in Caerphilly, Wales, she began dancing at the age of eight and joined Strictly in 2017 and became a finalist in 2019 with TV presenter Karim Zeroual

Aside from Strictly Come Dancing, Amy has appeared on several other shows including reality show, Dare To Dance, where she helps the public learn dance routines.

She has headlined her own tour, Here Come The Girls, with fellow professional dancers Dianne Buswell and Chloe Hewitt and has been a part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour since 2018

Amy has faced significant health challenges in recent years and made a documentary, 
Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me, a deeply personal documentary that aired on BBC One, following Amy’s journey through her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Amy has been open about her journey, sharing her experiences to raise awareness and support others going through similar challenges. Her resilience and positive attitude have been truly inspiring, and she continues to be involved in dance and public appearances using her journey and what she has learnt from living with a chronic illness to inspire others.
