Anna Hemmings MBE is Britain’s most successful female marathon kayaker, with an incredible 11 World and European Championship medals, including 9 golds. By just 24, she was already a three-time World Champion and had represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games. In 2010, Anna was awarded an MBE for services to sport.

From World Champion to Overcoming Adversity

At the peak of her career, Anna was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and told she might never race again. Refusing to give up, she made a full recovery and went on to win three more world titles and compete at her second Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. Her powerful story of resilience and determination continues to inspire audiences around the world.
