Anthea Turner

Anthea Turner has been a familiar face to British TV audiences for over twenty years, presenting such iconic shows as Blue Peter (BBC1) and the popular breakfast show GMTV (ITV1).

Anthea's debut on national television was as a presenter of the BBC show But First This, which led to her fronting two series of the BBC's Saturday morning show UP2U in 1988. She went on to present Top Of The Pops (until 1991), and then co-presented the hugely popular children's show Blue Peter.

Anthea moved to ITV to co-present GMTV from 1994 until 1996, though she continued an association with BBC as one of the first presenters of The National Lottery Draw (BBC1), along with Noel Edmunds and Gordon Kennedy. She remained as sole host of the National Lottery Live until April 1996, when she began presenting ITV's travel show Wish You Were Here...?. By this stage in her career, Anthea was the second highest paid female television presenter in the UK, after Cilla Black.

Other TV presenting credits include Perfect Housewife, Your Kids Are In Charge, Celebrity Big Brother, Help Me Anthea, Dinner Party Wars, Dancing On Ice, The Jump and The Health Lottery Draws.

In addition, Anthea has made numerous guest appearances on popular TV shows such as Loose Women, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, The Wright Stuff, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Hell's Kitchen, The Gadget Show, All Star Family Fortunes, Let's Dance For Sport Relief, All Star Mr & Mrs, Pointless Celebrities, Day Break, This Morning, Sky News, Celebrity First Dates and Through The Keyhole.

Anthea has also produced and presented a selection of fitness videos and DVDs. Her Y Plan Fitness video sold in excess of one million units, leading to further successful releases, including Body Basics and Tone, Lift & Condition. She has also written five books: Underneath The Underground: The Ghost Of Knightsbridge, Fools Rush In, How To Be The Perfect Housewife: Lessons In The Art Of Modern Household Management, How To Be The Perfect Housewife: Entertain In Style and The Perfect Christmas.
