- Stig from Top Gear
- Five's Fifth Gear Presenter
- Speaker & Awards Host
Best known as 'The Stig' from BBC’s internationally acclaimed Top Gear car show, Ben Collins has coached hundreds of celebrities around the race-track. From the anonymity of his white helmet, he taught some of the world’s most famous stars - from Tom Cruise to Lionel Ritchie - how to lay down a fast racing lap! But Ben can claim many other credits too: a championship Le Mans racing car driver, a best selling author, TV presenter and Hollywood stunt driver, during which he drove the iconic Aston Martin in James Bond films and performed as Nic Cage’s stunt driving double.
As The Stig, Ben was the benchmark of speed against which other drivers set themselves, and the man that everyone from Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell to Jenson Button tried and failed to beat.
Ben has raced successfully in almost every class, from Formula 3 and Le Mans 24 Hour to American Stock Car racing. He has put every known supercar to the test, from the Bugatti Veyron to the Ferrari 430 Scuderia – and has even put a London Routemaster Bus through its paces! His skills extend to catching a parachutist in a fast-moving car and coaching a blind man how to take on a chicane.
Ben’s bestselling memoir, The Man in the White Suit (The Stig, Le Mans, The Fast Lane and Me), charts a life of passion, commitment and a determination to succeed in the highly competitive adrenalin-fuelled world of motor sports. Ben also regularly puts pen to paper for Autosport and The Sunday Times, and is currently a presenter for TVN Turbo’s Automaniak.
Ben is in high demand as a speaker due to his unique career and continuing success. His entertaining anecdotes and tales of incredible stunts make for a truly inspirational talk. At its core is a story of strong commitment and an iron will that has determined Ben’s position as a world class performer.
