Brendan Cole

Brendan Cole, one of the original professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, has seen his career in media and television flourish since the show’s inception in 2004. As a dancer, producer, and entertainer, Brendan has captivated audiences with his Brendan Cole - Show 

Brendan appeared on every season of Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2017. His charismatic performances, stunning choreography, and audacious exchanges with the judges made him a fan favourite. He partnered with some of the most successful celebrity contestants, including presenter and actress Kelly Brook, supermodel Rachel Hunter, and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Brendan’s expertise extended internationally as he joined the judging panel of the New Zealand version of the series, Dancing with the Stars, for four years. His forthright manner and obvious expertise earned him the reputation of “the Simon Cowell of the judges.” Beyond Strictly, Brendan has appeared on stage in pantomime and on television in a range of shows, from sport to cookery, including Pilgrimage: The Road To Rome, Celebrity X Factor, SAS: Who Dares Wins, and reaching the final two on Dancing on Ice 2022.

Born in 1976 in Christchurch, New Zealand, Brendan began studying ballroom and Latin American dance at the age of six. He quickly became a junior and youth champion, winning international competitions. His passion for dance brought him to London, where he made the vibrant dance scene his base for work, study, and teaching.

Turning professional in 2000, Brendan and his then dance partner Camilla Dallerup became the New Zealand and Asian Open professional champions. They reached the semi-finals of The International, United Kingdom Open, British Open, and World Championships. Throughout his career, Brendan has choreographed stage shows and various performances for dancers worldwide.
