Clare Balding is one of Britain's leading broadcasters. Winner of the BAFTA Special Award and RTS Presenter of the Year Award for her expert coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, she is equally at home on radio or TV, and is renowned for her versatility and reliability.
Clare has worked on every Olympic Games since 1996 and on every Paralympics since 2000. Winning the BAFTA’s Special Award for her work on London 2012, she continues to present major events in sport, factual documentaries. Clare has proved that she can turn her hand to any sport - from racing to rugby league and from swimming to tennis. She has also worked on Countryfile (BBC1) and in December 2012, became the host of BBC1's Britain’s Brightest.
A passionate campaigner for equality and women’s sport, Clare is also a best-selling author of two memoirs and four children’s novels, alongside her latest non-fiction Heroic Animals and children’s non-fiction Fall Off, Get Back On, Keep Going.
Clare also resented a podcast series exploring the lost and hidden LGBTQ+ stories from National Trust places, to mark the 50th anniversary of the partial de-criminalisation of homosexuality.
Clare was invested as a Commander of the British Empire by HRH The Princess Royal in December 2022 at Buckingham Palace for her services to sport and charity.
