Dan Walker is one of the UK's most trusted broadcasters and journalists, with more than 20 years' experience at the forefront of television and radio. As the lead anchor of Channel 5's flagship news programme, '5 News', he is recognised for his calm authority, engaging interview style and ability to connect with audiences across a wide range of subjects.

Since joining Channel 5, Dan has fronted several primetime programmes, including 'Vanished – Britain's Hunt for Missing People', 'Dan & Helen's Pennine Adventure' and 'Yorkshire Great & Small' alongside Helen Skelton. In 2024, he also joined Classic FM to host the 'Classic FM Breakfast Show bringing listeners the perfect blend of classical music, conversation and current affairs each weekday morning.

Before Channel 5, Dan spent over two decades at the BBC, where he became one of the nation's most familiar faces. He presented 'BBC Breakfast' for six years and hosted 'Football Focus for 12 years, while covering some of the world's biggest sporting events, including five Olympic Games, five FIFA World Cups, Wimbledon, the Six Nations, the Grand National, Royal Ascot, the Derby and the NFL.

Beyond news and sport, Dan has demonstrated his versatility across entertainment and factual programming. He hosted the BBC One quiz show 'Chase the Case and reached the quarter-finals of 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2021. He has also presented 'The One Show' and 'Songs of Praise'.

Known for his thoughtful interviewing style, Dan has led a number of acclaimed broadcasts tackling important social issues. Among the most notable was 'A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health' in which he moderated an open discussion on men's mental health with HRH The Duke of Cambridge and leading football figures, including Gareth Southgate and Peter Crouch. The programme received widespread acclaim and earned multiple award nominations.
