Daniel Hulme

Daniel Hulme is a leading voice in artificial intelligence, emerging technology and innovation, with experience spanning entrepreneurship, academia, business and government. He is the CEO of Satalia, an award-winning AI company acquired by WPP in 2021, where he now also serves as Chief AI Officer. In this role, he focuses on the responsible and ethical application of AI across WPP, its clients and wider society.

Daniel is also the Founder and CEO of Conscium, a pioneering research organisation dedicated to exploring machine consciousness. His academic background encompasses computer science, cognitive science, management, computational complexity and artificial intelligence, culminating in a doctorate in AI.

Throughout his career, Daniel has worked at the intersection of technology, business and public policy. He has founded and contributed to advisory groups and steering committees examining the economic, employment and ethical consequences of data and emerging technologies. He has also advised the UK government on data policy and supported initiatives designed to encourage entrepreneurship, education and innovation.

At Satalia, Daniel developed practical applications of AI to tackle complex commercial and societal problems, demonstrating how the technology can extend far beyond conventional automation, customer analytics and marketing. Following the company’s acquisition by WPP, his focus has expanded to helping one of the world's largest communications groups understand and adopt AI safely and responsibly.
