A highly respected comedian, novelist and TV presenter, David Baddiel has seen his career go from strength to strength in all aspects of entertainment.
Beginning his journey as a stand-up comedian after leaving university, David formed a writing partnership with comic impressionist Rob Newman. The duo penned sketches for radio, including co-writing (with Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis) The Mary Whitehouse Experience, which initially aired on BBC Radio 1 before becoming a huge hit TV series on BBC 2. Newman and Baddiel went on to become the first comedians to perform to a sold-out Wembley Arena but subsequently went their separate ways.
David then struck a long-term comedy partnership with fellow comedian Frank Skinner. Their hit television series Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned provided an irreverent take on British life and often revealed their own as well as the audience's pet likes and dislikes, with sharp, witty observations from the duo adding to the laugher. David's love of football echoed that of Frank's and their joint passion for the game led to their composing and singing England football team’s official song for Euro 96.
David has also made a number of television documentaries, including Who Do You Think You Are?, Baddiel and the Missing Nazi Billions and Who Do You Want Your Child to Be?, a programme covering child development and education as part of the BBC's Horizon series. He has published four novels: Time for Bed (1996), Whatever Love Means (2002), The Secret Purposes (2006) and The Death of Eli Gold (2011).
David’s expertise in all areas of entertainment and media, combined with his upbeat and hilarious personality, make him an ideal candidate for every type of public speaking event, from Awards hosting to lunches and After Dinner Speeches.
