Sabrina Cohen-Hatton is one of the most senior female fire officers in the UK and a globally recognised expert in risk-critical decision making. Overcoming extreme personal adversity including leaving home at 15, homelessness, and leaving school at 16 she began her career as a firefighter and pursued her education at night, earning a First Class Honours degree in Psychology, a Masters in International Fire Service Development, and a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience.

Sabrina has led operational responses to major incidents such as the London Bridge terror attack, the Finsbury Park attack, and the aftermath of Grenfell, and has attained the highest rank in the UK Fire Service as a Chief Fire Officer. Her research has influenced national policy, won international acclaim, and established her as a leading authority in crisis leadership and decision making.

She is also a passionate advocate for social mobility, working with organisations such as The Big Issue and Street Vet, and has been recognised as one of The Big Issue’s Top 100 Changemakers, a Marie Claire Future Shaper, and featured in Cosmopolitan’s Millennial Power List. Sabrina is the author of Heat of the Moment (2019) and her second book, The Gender Bias, will be published in Spring 2023.
