George Clarke is a renowned British architect, designer, broadcaster, writer, and campaigner known for his passion for sustainable architecture and innovative housing solutions. From the age of 12, George was was driven by a desire to become an architect, believing deeply in the power of design to transform lives. His work is rooted in high-quality design and a commitment to achieving Net Zero Carbon, with a strong focus on ecological housing, sustainable development, and creating spaces that enhance health, wellbeing, and happiness.

As one of the UK’s most recognisable architectural TV presenters, George Clarke began his broadcasting career on Channel 5 before becoming a household name on Channel 4. For over 17 years, he has fronted some of the most popular home renovation and design programmes, including The Home Show, Restoration Man, Old House New Home, and the internationally acclaimed George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.

Beyond television, George Clarke is a dedicated campaigner for housing reform. His investigative series The Empty Homes Scandal highlighted the urgent need to repurpose vacant properties, while The Great British Council House Scandal continues to challenge the long-standing ‘Right to Buy’ policy and advocate for the restoration of Britain’s social housing stock.

George Clarke also plays a vital role in charitable and educational initiatives. He is an ambassador for The Prince’s Foundation and Shelter, a trustee of Sunderland’s Foundation of Light, and a patron of The Civic Trust Awards and the arts charity Artichoke.

Academically, George holds architectural qualifications from the University of Newcastle and University College London (The Bartlett School of Architecture), along with honorary doctorates from Sunderland University, Northumbria University, Teesside University, Leeds Beckett University, and the University of Wolverhampton.
