Helen Fospero

Helen Fospero is a highly respected television journalist and presenter, known for her warmth, credibility and professionalism. A familiar face to UK audiences, she regularly appears on BBC One’s The One Show and reports for Watchdog, bringing viewers insightful stories and investigations.

Helen began her career in newspapers before moving into broadcast journalism. She went on to become a correspondent and presenter of live rolling news for Sky News, later joining ITV as a host and newsreader on the popular breakfast programme GMTV. Over the course of her career she has interviewed leading politicians, major business figures and international celebrities, earning a reputation for combining incisive journalism with an engaging on-screen style.

From 1999 to 2002, Helen was ITV’s US correspondent based in New York. During this time she reported on major global events including the US presidential elections. On September 11th, 2001, she became the only British television journalist to witness the Twin Towers collapse first-hand while reporting in New York. In the months that followed, she continued to report extensively on the developing global security situation and the ongoing terrorist threat.

Alongside her journalism, Helen has become a familiar presence on British television entertainment programmes. She is a regular guest in Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s long-running quiz show Countdown. Throughout her broadcasting career she has also undertaken a variety of special assignments, including filming with the RAF’s Red Arrows aerobatic team.

Beyond broadcasting, Helen is passionate about charitable work. She is a founder of the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, alongside renowned chef Heston Blumenthal. The charity raises funds for pioneering spinal cord injury research aimed at improving recovery outcomes for those living with paralysis.

Helen is also a highly experienced conference facilitator, moderator and awards host. Known for her ability to guide discussions with authority while putting guests and audiences at ease, she is a popular choice for corporate events, leadership forums and industry conferences.
