James Tanner is an English chef and television personality, best known for his appearances on Ready Steady Cook and the popular ITV breakfast show Lorraine.
The heart of James' culinary personality beats to the catchphrase "Like So", which he often uses to assuage viewers' fears of unfamiliar ingredients and encourage them to give his recipes a try.
James began his culinary career in the 1990s, working in the kitchens of several restaurants, often with his older brother, fellow celebrity chef Chris Tanner, working his way up through the ranks until he was invited by the Roux brothers, Michel and Albert, to move to the US to work in upstate New York at the Lake Placid Lodge.
In 2003, James became the latest recruit to the ever-popular TV series Ready Steady Cook, joining the regular team of celebrity chefs on the BBC 2 show. Since then, he has become one of the most popular chefs on British television, appearing on numerous culinary-themed shows, including Step Up To The Plate, Take On The Takeaway, Saturday Kitchen, Something For The Weekend, and Put Your Menu Where Your Mouth Is and Great Food Live (UKTV Food). In addition, James and brother Chris filmed their own 15 part series, The Tanner Brothers.
James has written four books: For Chocolate Lovers, Ice Cream (both co-written by Chris Tanner), James Tanner Takes 5: Delicious Dishes Using Just Five Ingredients, and Old Favourites, New Twists: 100 Classic Recipes With A Difference.
A popular Celebrity Chef and a talented Presenter, James Tanner makes an excellent choice as an Events Host or After-dinner Speaker, especially at cookery-themed events. To book him, contact Prime Performers on 020 3500 3331 or via the online booking enquiry form.
