Jamie Woodruff

Jamie Woodruff

  • Ethical Hacker & Cyber Security Specialist
  • Social Engineering & Risk in Technology Speaker
  • Keynote & Conference Speaker

Jamie Woodruff first gained international attention after successfully hacking Facebook as part of a student competition while studying Computer Information Systems at Bangor University. Since then, he has gone on to identify significant security vulnerabilities across a range of high-profile organisations and platforms, including websites associated with Kim Kardashian, as well as leading technology companies such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Apple and Google.

Today, Jamie is Chief Technology Officer of a UK-based IT support and cyber security specialist, where he works across cyber security, penetration testing, cloud solutions, technical support and IT services for schools and organisations. He is also a Cyber Safety Advisor for the Cyber Smile Foundation, supporting its work around online safety and cyberbullying.

A highly engaging and entertaining speaker, Jamie brings cyber security to life through real-world examples, demonstrations and stories from the frontline of ethical hacking. He explores how cyber criminals think, the vulnerabilities they exploit and the often-simple techniques that can be used to gain access to supposedly secure environments.

In one authorised penetration-testing exercise, Jamie famously gained access to a major financial institution’s server room by posing as a Domino’s pizza delivery driver and using lock-picking techniques to bypass physical security.

Jamie’s talks provide audiences with a fascinating insight into the world of hacking and cybercrime, while highlighting the critical importance of human behaviour, system security and organisational resilience. His presentations are designed to educate, challenge and empower audiences to think differently about the security of their people, data and technology.

Keynote topics include:

  • Ethical hacking and the psychology of cyber criminals
  • Cyber security and organisational resilience
  • Fraud, scams and social engineering
  • The human vulnerabilities behind cyber attacks
  • Penetration testing and real-world security
  • Online safety and cyberbullying
  • Emerging cyber threats and digital vulnerabilities
