Jason Manford is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor, radio and television presenter. He began his career in 1999, while working at the Buzz Comedy Club in Chorlton, Manchester. Jason was collecting glasses when a performer didn’t arrive for an evening set. Jason, who was 17, stepped in to fill the gap, an event which marked the beginning of his comedy career.
After winning several smaller awards, Jason was nominated for the Perrier Award in Edinburgh in 2005 for his show ‘Urban Legends’. His first major television appearance was when he was a guest on the Channel 4 panel show, 8 out of 10 cats, presented by Jimmy Carr, he was on Dave Spikey’s team he would later go on to replace Dave Spikey as Team Captain in 2007.
Since then Jason has gone on to become one of the UK’s hottest comedians a CV of Television, Stage and Radio shows too numerous to mention! Just a few of the roles he has played have included Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and The Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie to You as well as acting in television dramas such as Death in Paradise Ordinary Lies’ and appearing on stage in Sweeny Todd, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Guys and Dolls.
Jason has toured with sell out Stand Up Comedy shows , filling arenas and theatres up and down the country, including sell out appearances at the London O2.
Jason’s hosting duties have included the National Lottery’s Big Bash, Show me the Money, Live at the Apollo, Funny Old Week, The Money Pit and First and Last.
And who can forget Jason starring as Hedgehog in the Masked Singer!
