Long established as one of the UK’s best comics, Jo Brand has hosted The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice (Channel 4) for eight years. She is both the star and writer of two sitcoms; Getting On, the BBC’s BAFTA-award-winning series set on a hospital’s geriatric ward, which was partly inspired by her earlier career in nursing, and Damned which aired on Channel 4. Jo’s other television credits include Jo Brand’s Hot Potatoes (BBC One), the award-winning Through the Cakehole (Channel 4), hosting Have I Got News for You (BBC One), QI (BBC Two), and Would I Lie To You? (BBC One).

Jo is multi-talented to say the least, from taking the part of The Sergeant of Police in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance at London’s Gielgud Theatre, to facing the formidable Alan Sugar for Comic Relief Does the Apprentice and learning to play the organ for a sell-out audience at The Royal Albert Hall for the BBC One show Play It Again. Jo has also written several highly acclaimed, best-selling books: Can’t Stand Up For Sitting Down, Look Back In Hunger, and The More You Ignore Me, which was adapted into a feature film and released in 2018.

In an effort to raise money for Sport Relief, Jo also took to the road with Jo Brand’s Hell of a Walk where she walked an incredible 135 miles across the country in seven days.
