Joe Marler is one of the most recognisable and respected figures in world rugby. A two-time Gallagher Premiership champion and a veteran of over 95 international caps for England, Joe has become a household name both on and off the pitch.

Joe spent his entire professional rugby career with Harlequins Rugby Club, amassing over 200 appearances across all competitions. During his time at the club, he played a pivotal role in securing two Premiership Rugby titles and the European Challenge Cup. Known for his fierce scrummaging, leadership, and larger-than-life personality, Joe was a cornerstone of Harlequins for more than a decade.
In November 2024, Joe Marler officially announced his retirement from professional rugby, closing the chapter on an extraordinary career that left a lasting legacy in English and international rugby.

In 2020, Joe published his candid and critically acclaimed autobiography, Loose Head: Confessions of an (Un)Professional Rugby Player. The book offers an unfiltered look at Joe’s life on and off the pitch, including his struggles with mental health, the pressures of elite sport, and the unconventional journey that shaped his career.
💬 Mental Health Advocacy and “Big Boys Don’t Cry”
A passionate advocate for mental health awareness, Joe is a proud ambassador for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). In 2021, he partnered with Sky Sports to produce the powerful documentary “Big Boys Don’t Cry”. In the film, Joe travels the UK meeting men from all walks of life to discuss mental wellbeing, emotional resilience, and breaking down the stigma around men’s mental health.

Though retired from playing, Joe remains an integral part of the England Rugby setup. He currently serves as a Player Liaison Officer, supporting the next generation of players and offering invaluable insight from his years at the highest level of the game.
