Lorraine Kelly
Lorraine Kelly
- The Lorraine Show
- Daytime TV Host
- Awards Host and Personal Appearances
Lorraine Kelly is one of Britain's most successful chat show hosts, especially when it comes to daytime TV "sofa shows". There is nothing derogatory in this description, because though the skills that Lorraine demonstrates on an almost daily basis might look easy, in fact they are very tough and demanding, and only someone with the degree of talent, perception and shear hard work that Loraine displays can make it look and feel so comfortable and easy going.
As a TV host, Lorraine was initially a reporter and presenter on TV-am's Good Morning Britain, one of the UK's original breakfast television news programmes. Between 2012 and 2014, she was a main presenter of ITV's Daybreak, which she co-hosted from Monday to Thursdays with Aled Jones. She currently has her own show ‘Lorraine’ on ITV, which goes out live on weekdays. The programme is a fast moving show packed with glitz, glamour and gossip, attracting huge audiences. Other TV shows that Lorraine has presented include Liquid News, Liquid Eurovision, Town To Town, Question Of TV, Family Of My Own, Parenting, The Sheena Easton Story, Live Talk, Parents Know Best and The Living Room. She even appeared in an episode of One Foot In The Grave, interviewing writer David Renwick who played an expert on irritable bowel syndrome!
Lorraine is naturally sensitive when it comes to human interest stories, and naturally exuberant when it comes showbiz chat! In fact, Lorraine is a natural whatever she does. That is a big part of her wide-ranging appeal.
It is these same skills that also make Lorraine a respected Awards Host, Presenter and Speaker at corporate functions - and it is also for these reasons that she is asked back by clients time and time again. She is also very popular for Product Endorsements and Personal Appearances.
Lorraine has made several fitness videos - the first, called Figure It Out, went to Number One in the health and fitness video charts, and this was followed up with Figure Happy, which also proved a big hit.
Lorraine is a celebrity patron of the Worldwide Cancer Research. She is also a patron of the British charity Help for Heroes and an Honorary Patron of The Courtyard, Herefordshire's Centre for the Arts.
In 2004, Lorraine was elected as the first female Rector of the University of Dundee, being formally installed to office in April 2004; she held this position until 2007. In June 2008, Lorraine was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Dundee for her services to charity.
