Louise Minchin is a highly respected broadcaster, journalist, author and endurance athlete. Best known for presenting BBC One’s BBC Breakfast for 20 years, Louise is one of the UK’s most recognisable television presenters and an experienced live event hosts.

Alongside her broadcasting career, Louise currently co-presents the BBC’s flagship consumer programme Rip Off Britain, bringing her trademark warmth, credibility and journalistic insight to stories that matter to audiences across the UK.

Before joining BBC Breakfast, Louise was one of the main anchors on BBC News 24 and a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live, covering major national and international news stories. Throughout her television career she has also guest presented The One Show and hosted a number of BBC programmes including Real Rescues, Missing Live and Crime and Punishment.

Her engaging on-screen presence has also made her a popular figure on entertainment television. She competed in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2021, reached the final of Celebrity MasterChef, finishing as runner-up, and appeared in Channel 4’s Time Crashers.

Away from television, Louise hosts the popular podcast Push Your Peak, where she interviews world-class athletes and high performers to explore the mindset, resilience and determination required to reach the very top of their fields. Through these conversations she uncovers powerful insights into performance, leadership and mental strength.

Louise is a successful author. Her first book, Dare to Tri (Bloomsbury), published in 2019, chronicles her inspiring journey from the BBC Breakfast sofa to competing internationally in triathlon. Her second book, Fearless: Adventures with Extraordinary Women (Bloomsbury), was released in 2023 and celebrates remarkable women in sport. For the book Louise took on a series of demanding challenges alongside inspirational female adventurers, including swimming from Alcatraz, ice free-diving in Finland, wild caving and trekking across Dartmoor.

Her third book, Isolation Island, published in 2024, was her debut novel. The thriller follows a group of celebrities competing in a reality television show on a remote Scottish island where events take a dramatic and deadly turn. The novel was selected as a Sunday Times Pick of the Month.
