Lucy Siegle is a leading voice in sustainability, environmental journalism and ethical fashion. A writer, broadcaster and keynote speaker, she has spent over two decades at the forefront of modern environmentalism helping bring critical ecological issues into mainstream conversation.

Best known for her long-running role on The One Show, Lucy has reported on environmental challenges since 2007, with a particular focus on plastic pollution, climate change and the hidden impact of the fashion industry. Through her journalism, she has played a significant role in raising public awareness of single-use plastics and the environmental cost of fossil fuel-based textiles.

Lucy is the author of several influential books, including To Die For: Is Fashion Wearing Out the World?, which was nominated for the Orwell Prize, and Turning the Tide on Plastic, a practical and inspiring call to action for individuals and organisations alike. She also co-produced and appeared in the acclaimed Netflix documentary The True Cost, which exposed the global impact of fast fashion.

For 14 years, Lucy wrote the UK’s first mainstream sustainability column in The Observer, establishing herself as a trusted authority on ethical living. She has interviewed some of the world’s most influential environmental figures, including David Attenborough and Björk.

A passionate advocate for sustainable fashion, Lucy co-founded the Green Carpet Challenge alongside Livia Firth, collaborating with global designers and high-profile talent to promote ethical practices across the industry.

Lucy is a highly experienced event host, moderator and keynote speaker, regularly working with global brands, policymakers and NGOs. She is also a professional speechwriter for major international climate events, including COP summits, and has partnered on climate advocacy with Ellie Goulding since 2017.

In addition to her speaking and media work, Lucy serves as a trustee of Surfers Against Sewage and is an ambassador for WWF UK and The Circle.
