Lurata Lyon is an inspirational speaker, author and wellbeing expert whose life story is a powerful example of resilience, courage and human potential.

A survivor of the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, Lurata endured extreme trauma, including captivity, torture and abuse. Against extraordinary odds, she escaped and rebuilt her life in the United Kingdom  arriving without speaking a word of English.

Through sheer determination, Lurata educated herself, worked multiple jobs to support her studies and invested relentlessly in personal development. From long hours in a dry-cleaning business to running an internet café, she saved to retrain as a qualified personal trainer and nutritionist, laying the foundations for a career dedicated to helping others thrive.

Alongside her professional development, Lurata worked closely with charities and volunteered extensively, campaigning against human trafficking and the exploitation of women. This advocacy naturally led her into public speaking, where she now shares her compelling survival-to-success journey to inspire hope, resilience and positive change.

Today, Lurata is also a globally recognised public speaking and presentation skills coach, working with individuals and organisations ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations across media, finance and technology. Her client portfolio includes WPP, Dentsu, Verizon Media, Yahoo, The Telegraph, Goldman Sachs, Engie, Bloomberg, Google, Amobee and ClearView, among others.

Her latest work focuses on wellbeing and lifestyle planning, helping professionals optimise performance, prevent burnout and protect mental health in high-pressure environments. Lurata designs bespoke lifestyle plans aligned to individual goals and work demands, covering:
