Matt Richardson

  • Multi-Award Winning Stand-Up Comedian
  • Comedy Awards Host
  • After Dinner Entertainment

Matt started stand-up comedy in 2009 at just 18 years old, quickly becoming one of the youngest comedians on the UK circuit. His early career saw him reaching the finals of two prestigious national competitions—So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedy Award—as well as finishing runner-up in the Reading Comedy Festival New Act of the Year. He also won the Newbury and Bath Comedy Festival New Act Competitions, all while still in his teens.

Matt soon established himself as a fixture at major comedy clubs across the UK and took his comedy international, performing worldwide on numerous occasions.

By 2020, Matt had solidified his status as a seasoned TV host, presenting shows such as The Hangover Games (E4), The Red Bull Soapbox Race (Dave), Celebrity Haunted Mansion and Celebrity Haunted Hotel (W), both alongside Christine Lampard, and later helming solo spin-off shows for both. His hosting resume also includes two ITV2 documentaries—Pampered Pooches: Hollywood and Meet The Family Guys, both filmed in LA—and the after-show Just Tattoo Of Us: The Aftermath on MTV. Matt’s first major presenting gig was hosting The Xtra Factor (ITV2) in 2013, at just 22 years old, alongside Caroline Flack.

Matt also hosted Virgin Radio’s Drive Time Show for three years, before deciding to focus on his first passion—comedy. He co-hosts the hit podcast When No One’s Watching, alongside Matt Willis of Busted. The podcast features a stellar lineup of guests including Keith Lemon, Tom Fletcher, Darren Harriott, Emma Willis, and Helen Bauer.

In addition to his presenting, Matt has appeared on countless TV shows, including Comedy Game Night, Roast Battle, Drunk History (Comedy Central), Nevermind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), Celebrity Juice, CelebAbility, The Stand Up Sketch Show (Series 2 & 3), Hey Tracey, The Chase: Celebrity Christmas Special, The Chris Ramsey Show, Top Gear: Extra Gear, Love Island: Aftersun (ITV2), and numerous spin-off shows.

In 2013, Matt embarked on his first award-winning tour, Hometown Hero, performing 54 dates until the spring of 2014. After a break from touring, he returned to Edinburgh in 2017 with his show Slash, which garnered multiple 5-star reviews and led to a successful 60-date UK tour. In 2024, Matt toured the UK with his brand-new comedy show, Brash, which was met with rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.

Looking ahead in 2025, Matt continues to perform live and work on exciting new projects, with future tours and TV appearances in the works. His dynamic career shows no signs of slowing down, and fans can expect more laughs and memorable moments in the years to come.
