Naga Munchetty

Naga Munchetty is a high-profile journalist and broadcaster, widely recognized as one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast, where she appears on the famous red sofa every week. She also hosts the mid-morning program on Radio 5 Live, delivering news, experiences, and interviews. Naga is a familiar face on BBC Newsnight, having presented the show on numerous occasions.

In addition to her television work, Naga is a well-known voice on BBC Radio 4’s PM, Moneybox, and Pick of the Week.

Naga's journalism career began at the Evening Standard and The Observer newspapers. She then moved into reporting for Reuters Financial Television. Her passion for financial matters, news, and television led her to CNBC Europe, where she became an Executive Producer. Naga has also worked as a Producer and Reporter for Channel 4 News and later became an anchor for Bloomberg Television, where she hosted a daily show and interviewed major CEOs and Central Bankers. In 2008, she joined the BBC to front BBC2’s Working Lunch and later the European Breakfast program for BBC World News.

Naga is an avid golfer, playing off a handicap of 9. In 2013, she won Celebrity Mastermind with her expertise on The Ryder Cup. She was named one of the UK’s most powerful Asian females by the Asian Power List in 2014 and received the Media Personality of the Year award at the Asian Media Awards in 2018.

Naga supports various charities, focusing on mental health, education, women’s rights, and animal welfare. She combines her love of sport with new challenges, having run the 2013 London Marathon and completed the Women V Cancer Ride The Night 100km cycling event in 2015. She also completed the London to Paris bike ride and the 100-mile Prudential Ride London event.

Naga was a judge for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2016 and participated as a celebrity contestant on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing the same year. In 2021, she debuted as the host of the mid-morning program on BBC Radio 5 Live.
