Naomi Cooper is a London-based comedian, actor and writer known for her sharp storytelling, character comedy and mischievous stage presence. She has built a career performing stand-up across the UK, Europe, the UAE and the United States, appearing at comedy clubs, theatres and major festivals.
Naomi began performing stand-up in 2013 and quickly established herself on the British comedy circuit. She has performed at venues including the Leicester Square Theatre, Trafalgar Studios and the Vaudeville Theatre, as well as festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival, Leicester Comedy Festival and Utrecht International Comedy Festival.
A significant moment in Naomi's career came in 2017 when she supported American comedian Jeff Garlin, best known for Curb Your Enthusiasm, throughout his extended sold-out run at London's Soho Theatre. She later supported him in Los Angeles at the Laugh Factory and Hollywood Improv. Garlin described Naomi as “a comedy badass” and praised her comic talent.
Naomi is also an accomplished improviser. She was the first female finalist of C Venue's Improvaganza at the Edinburgh Festival and was a founding company member of the improv troupe ImproBabble, which had a residency at the Leicester Square Theatre between 2010 and 2012.
In 2020, Naomi became a finalist in the Funny Women Stage Awards. Around this time, she developed her popular comedy character Philippa, a self-absorbed, middle-class “yummy mummy”. The character became particularly popular online and led to live performances, including an appearance at the Vaudeville Theatre. A sitcom based around Philippa was subsequently optioned for development.
Alongside comedy, Naomi has an extensive acting background. She trained at Bretton Hall, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Acting and specialising in classical acting. Her acting credits include theatre, television and film, demonstrating her versatility as a performer and writer.
Naomi has also developed her career as a screenwriter. She writes comedy and comedy-drama and has had television projects optioned for development. In 2026, her comedy TV pilot was optioned by BAFTA Award-winning production company Channel X.
Her work has received praise from comedy critics and audiences, with reviewers highlighting her storytelling, character work and comic timing. Naomi continues to perform stand-up, develop television projects and work across comedy, acting and voiceover.
In 2026, Naomi was nominated for Best Female Voiceover Performance of the Year at the VOX Awards, as well as Best Female Commercial Performance at the One Voice Awards, further demonstrating the breadth of her work as a performer.
