Renowned chef, presenter, and prolific author Phil Vickery has been a beloved staple of British cooking and television for over two decades. Best known for his 22-year tenure as a chef on ITV's This Morning, Phil has firmly established himself as one of the UK's most celebrated culinary talents.
Phil's culinary career began humbly as a commis chef at the Burlington Hotel on Folkestone’s seafront. His journey through the ranks took him to prestigious establishments such as Michael’s Nook in Cumbria, the Michelin-starred Gravetye Manor in East Grinstead, and Ian McAndrew's 74 restaurant, also awarded a Michelin star. As the head chef of The Castle Hotel in Taunton, West Country, he reached new heights, earning a Michelin star, 4 AA Rosettes, and numerous accolades like The Times Restaurant of the Year and the British Meat Chef of the Year.
Phil’s first television appearance came when he stepped in for Keith Floyd on The Breakfast Programme. This launched his media career, leading to roles on BBC’s Ready Steady Cook, Holiday, and Proof of the Pudding. Phil also hosted his own ITV series, Phil Vickery’s Pudding Club and Save Money: Good Diet, for which he authored the accompanying cookbook. As This Morning’s longest-serving chef, Phil has captivated audiences with both live and pre-recorded cooking segments from exotic locations like Grenada, Goa, and the Great Barrier Reef.
With 19 cookbooks to his name, including the widely praised Phil Vickery’s Ultimate Diabetes Cookbook and the recent release The Canny Cook (2022), Phil is a leading authority on gluten-free cooking.
