  • Strategic Achievement & Human Potential Specialist
  • Leadership, Resilience & Mindset Expert

Greg Whyte is a leading authority in applied sport and exercise science and a Professor at Liverpool John Moores University. Widely recognised beyond academia, he is best known for coaching high-profile individuals through extreme physical and endurance challenges in support of Sport Relief and Comic Relief.

Greg has prepared some of the UK’s most recognisable figures for extraordinary charity feats. His work includes training David Walliams for his Channel and River Thames swims, supporting Eddie Izzard during his remarkable challenge of completing 43 marathons in 51 days, and coaching John Bishop and Davina McCall for their headline-making endurance events.

Before becoming one of the world’s most respected performance specialists, Greg represented Great Britain in the Modern Pentathlon,  a demanding sport combining swimming, fencing, shooting, riding and running. He competed at the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games, as well as ten World Championships. After retiring from elite competition, he turned his focus to understanding the science of high performance, including biomechanics, training design and the psychology required to succeed at the highest level.

Greg has held senior advisory roles across elite sport, including Director of Science and Research at the English Institute of Sport. He has worked closely with Team GB and Team England, served on the British Olympic Association Performance Management Group, and contributed to the Commonwealth Games Advisory Panel. His expertise has also been sought by Formula 1 teams including Benetton and Renault, as well as leading Premiership football clubs.

In addition to his consultancy work, Greg was the sports science expert on ITV’s Eternal Glory, is the author of Achieve the Impossible, and continues to embody his philosophy by competing in marathons and endurance events.

Keynote Speaker

Greg Whyte specialises in helping audiences understand how to achieve what appears impossible. His talks demonstrate that success is rarely down to luck; instead, it comes from having a clear goal, a robust strategy and the discipline to execute a plan. Greg’s approach is about turning ordinary potential into extraordinary results and delivering outcomes rather than simply dreaming. Along the way, he may also share insights from leading Cheryl Cole and Gary Barlow to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
