Rufus Hound is a comedian, actor and presenter, whose versatility has led to regular appearances on TV, radio and stage.
On TV, Rufus has appeared in CBBC's Hounded (as the eponymous hero), A Touch of Cloth 2, Sport Relief (dressed up as Cheryl Cole!!), three series of Dave Channel's Argumental (captaining the Blue Team) and as a contestant on numerous TV panel shows, including Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Would I Lie To You?, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and You Have Been Watching. As a presenter, he’s welcomed viewers to Top of the Pops, Glastonbury and The Brits: Backstage. Other TV work includes Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, The Apprentice: You’re Fired, Xtra Factor, This Morning, Alan Titchmarsh, and Doctor Who: The 12th Doctor. In February 2015, Rufus appeared in the Channel 4 series Cucumber, in which he played an eccentric character called Rupert. Also in early 2015, he was the dictionary corner guest on Countdown, enthusiastically regaling the audience with poems and stories based on shows he has written.
On radio, Rufus has hosted BBC Radio 4's My Teenage Diary, which won a Sony Award in 2013; initiated What’s So Funny? (on Radio 4 Extra); and has guested on The Unbelievable Truth, The Jonathan Ross Show and The Graham Norton Show.
As a stage actor, Rufus has trod the boards in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Savoy Theatre, London), One Man Two Guv’nors (UK Tour and Theatre Royal, London) and Neville’s Island (Chichester Festival Theatre). He has been seen in several films, including The Wedding Video and Big Fat Gypsy Gangster (both released in 2011).
