Sanjeev Bhaskar first came to widespread public attention when he starred in the British Asian comedy sketch TV show Goodness Gracious Me, which ran to three series and played to sell-out audiences on tour. He wrote and co-starred in the equally successful TV 'chat show' The Kumars at No 42. He also stars in a BBC Comedy drama The Indian Doctor in which a 1960s Welsh mining village is forever changed by the new doctor.
Sanjeev also presented and starred in a documentary series called India with Sanjeev Bhaskar, in which he travelled India and visited his ancestral home in today's Pakistan, and featured in a Channel 4 documentary series called The House That Made Me. This show recreated his childhood home and introduced him to the characters of his youth.
Sanjeev has also appeared in a number of films, including The Guru,Anita and Me and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. In October 2014, Bhaskar hosted Wittertainment, standing in for Simon Mayo on the BBC's flagship film show.
