Sara Cox is one of the UK’s most recognisable broadcasters, celebrated for her warmth, quick wit and natural ability to connect with audiences. She first rose to fame in the 1990s as a TV presenter before becoming a household name on BBC Radio 1, where she hosted the iconic Radio 1 Breakfast Show from 2000–2003, attracting millions of listeners.

Since 2013, Sara has been a key voice on BBC Radio 2, presenting Sounds of the 80s and later taking on the weekday Drivetime show, where her energy and humour continue to make her one of the network’s most-loved presenters. Alongside radio, she has fronted a wide mix of television programmes, including The Great Pottery Throw Down, the Back in Time history series, and the BBC Two book-club show Between the Covers.

Sara is also an accomplished author. Her memoir, "Till the Cows Come Home" became a Sunday Times bestseller, followed by her novels "Thrown and Way Back", both warmly received for their heart, humour and relatability.

Born and raised on a farm in Bolton, Sara often draws on her rural upbringing and lifelong appreciation for community, resilience and authenticity, values that shape her storytelling, and broadcasting. Her career has been recognised with an honorary doctorate from the University of Bolton, celebrating her contribution to British media and culture.
