Ulrika Jonsson is a TV personality at the forefront of a new generation of female presenters - confident, funny, sometimes outspoken, and not afraid to take on the male of the species at his own game.…and often win….while all the time retaining her natural vivaciousness.
Ulrika rose to prominence as a TV-am weather presenter, subsequently presenting the successful ITV game show Gladiators and then becoming one of the team captains of the BBC2 comedy panel show Shooting Stars, hosted by the redoubtable Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
Other TV work includes presenting The National Lottery - plus two major international broadcasts, the Eurovision Song Contest (1998) and, more pointedly, Miss World (1999). In an entirely different arena, in 1997 Ulrika interviewed the then British Prime Minister John Major for the BBC2 programme The Enormous Election. A year later, she interviewed the then-Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, for her BBC2 programme Ulrika in Euroland. In 2002, Ulrika was herself the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, Ulrika Jonsson: the Truth About Men. The programme featured a candid interview with Ulrika, receiving heavy press attention and attracting 2.8 million viewers.
Ulrika has often appeared as a contestant on TV game / reality shows. In early 2007, she joined 10 other celebrities to take part in the ITV show Dancing on Ice, where she was partnered with Pavel Aubrecht, and in 2009, she took part in Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother, winning with 57% of the final vote.
Her debut novel, The Importance of Being Myrtle, which focuses on relationships, was published by Penguin Group in 2011.
With proven skills as an established TV presenter, Ulrika is an excellent Awards Host and Conference Facilitator. To book Ulrika Jonsson, contact her Agent at Prime Performers Booking Agency via the online booking enquiry form or alternatively call us on 020 3500 3331.
