Vanessa Ruck is an adventurer, TEDx speaker, corporate keynote presenter, and international rally racer, renowned for inspiring audiences worldwide with her story of resilience, courage and determination.

Born and raised in England, Vanessa grew up in the great outdoors, pushing boundaries on horses, quad bikes, and anything with wheels. At 18, she left home to pursue higher education and build a professional career with ambition and drive.

In 2014, Vanessa’s life took a dramatic turn when she was struck by a car at a red light. The accident resulted in multiple surgeries, a long recovery and chronic pain, reshaping not only her body but also her identity and purpose.

Sport has always been Vanessa’s passion. Before the accident, she thrived in kite surfing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Following her recovery, motorcycles became her path to strength, resilience, and adventure. Today, the open road and the unknown continue to shape her lifestyle, her healing, and her professional work.

During her recovery from a third surgery, Vanessa founded The Girl On A Bike, creating a global community by sharing her complete journey celebrating not only the victories but also the real, behind-the-scenes effort required to rebuild a life.

As a professional speaker and content creator, Vanessa collaborates with leading brands across the motorcycle, lifestyle, and automotive industries. She delivers powerful talks in schools, corporations and global events on resilience, mindset, mental health, adversity, identity, and high performance.

Vanessa’s rally racing portfolio includes the Africa Eco Race (Original Dakar route), Red Bull Romaniacs, Qatar International Baja, Morocco Desert Challenge, Tunisia Desert Challenge, and numerous desert, enduro, and adventure rally disciplines.

Alongside motorcycling, Vanessa has also ventured into four-wheel racing, adapting her sport to accommodate hip pain. She spent two years as the Works Driver for Jaguar Land Rover/Bowler Defender in their rally series across the UK and Europe.

Vanessa’s mission is simple: to make the most of life and inspire others to do the same, regardless of circumstance. She demonstrates that while we cannot always choose what happens to us, we can choose how we respond.
